Some background information:
„Spam“ originally is a brand name of canned meat. Monthy Python did a popular sketch about that product. In the sketch, two customers are trying to order a breakfast from a menu that includes spam in almost every item. The term „spam“ appears in this sketch almost 100 times, and the technical term „spam“ is derived from this sketch.

„Spam“ ist eigentlich ein Markenname für (das abgebildete) Dosenfleisch. Die englischen Komiker Monthy Python drehten einen Sketch über ein Café, in dem auf der Speisekarte nur Gerichte mit Spam vorkamen. In dem dreiminütigen Sketch fällt das Wort „Spam“ fast 100 Mal. Hier hat die Bezeichnung für unerwünschte Werbe-Mails ihren Ursprung.
